Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Video Content Creative who has a strong sense for good content and understands what makes video ads successful. In this role, you will support us in further expanding the Butternut Box brand in Germany and Italy.

A large part of your work will involve conceptualizing, localizing, transcreating, editing, and further developing already successful ad assets for our growth channels. You'll work closely with our Brand & Creative Team, our Growth Team, and international colleagues. This role is a great fit if you enjoy rapid implementation, testing different creative approaches, and continuously optimizing content based on data and performance.

Setup: The role is hybrid and based in Berlin. You can work from home on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Your tasks

  • You create, localize, and scale paid social video ads for Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. On average, you produce or localize 5–6 new creatives per week and market.
  • You develop and test attention-grabbing video concepts, hooks and messages, and continuously optimize them based on creative briefings, performance data and current social media trends.
  • You adapt internationally successful creatives for the German and Italian markets, taking into account local characteristics, trends, and cultural differences. You also work with AI voice-over tools.
  • You create short-form videos and motion design assets using After Effects.
  • You produce and edit longer video formats using Premiere Pro.
  • You develop ideas for short-form content, film and direct – with dogs, dog owners, our products and everything that makes up our brand, both on set and on the go.
  • Together with colleagues from Brand, Growth and Copywriting, you translate marketing briefings and performance insights into strong visual stories.

What you bring

We are looking for someone who combines creative quality with speed, a good understanding of performance and a strong test-and-learn mentality.

What we are looking for:

  • You speak German at C2 level and have very good English skills, both spoken and written.
  • You have experience in developing content concepts and localizing content for different markets.
  • You can quickly capture creative briefings and performance data and use them to develop paid social content that delivers results.
  • You are proficient in using video editing and motion design tools such as After Effects and Premiere Pro.
  • You understand the key principles of Direct Response Creative, such as strong hooks, good pacing and storytelling, and know how to use ad metrics to improve creatives and business impact.
  • You work quickly, independently and in a structured manner, and you maintain an overview even with multiple projects, tight deadlines and frequent iterations.
  • You have a good sense for image composition, framing and lighting in short-form video.
  • And most importantly: You love dogs!

Nice to have – the more the better:

  • Italian language skills
  • Experience with AI-powered creative tools or automated video platforms such as ElevenLabs or SolidLabs

What we offer

  • An attractive salary and company shares (ESOP) so that you can also participate in our shared success.
  • 25 days of vacation per year plus one additional day for each year of service, up to a total of 29 days.
  • 5 additional paid "Paws Days" per year for your personal development or spontaneous time off.
  • An annual budget of €500 for your professional and personal development.
  • You have the choice between an Urban Sports Club membership or monthly voucher options.
  • A budget to ensure you're well-equipped even on your home office days.
  • Regular team events and joint activities where fun is also a priority.
  • Annual volunteering during working hours to give something back together.
  • Employee discounts on Butternut Box for you, your family, and friends.

The interview process

  1. Initial introductory meeting with your Talent Acquisition Partner, remotely.
  2. Skills interview, usually also conducted remotely.
  3. Behaviour Interview, conducted in person on location.
  4. A casual coffee chat on site with two team members.

Our entire interview process typically takes about 3-5 weeks.

Important instructions:

  • We recommend that you apply as early as possible. Once we have received enough suitable applications, we reserve the right to close the position early.
  • Collaboration is an important part of our culture. That's why we spend three days a week together in our Berlin office: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. On the other two days, you can work from wherever you are most productive. Therefore, we are looking for someone for whom the regular commute to Berlin is manageable.
  • Our recruiting team is small and we take the time to carefully review each application. Therefore, it may sometimes take a while before you hear from us. Thank you for your patience.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot offer visa sponsorship for this role. You will therefore need a valid work permit for Germany.

We believe that every voice deserves a place at the table.
