About the Position
The rapid acceleration of AI and ML is transforming Intra Datacenter Networking. iPronics is at the forefront of this disruption with its unique Optical Network Engine, delivering full optical bandwidth switching in advanced datacenter architectures. Our technology spans the full stack — from silicon photonics to API layers — and integrates seamlessly into datacenter chassis.
As a fabless company, iPronics is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to serve as the dedicated quality interface between iPronics and our Tier 1 OSAT, foundry, and module manufacturing partners. You will own supplier-side quality performance, drive structured problem solving (FA/RCA/8D), manage RMA and field-return processes, and ensure customer-facing quality issues are resolved with speed, clarity, and permanent corrective actions.
This role is critical to ensuring our products meet the stringent reliability, yield, and performance expectations of global datacenter customers.
Responsibilities
Supplier Quality Ownership & OSAT Interface
- Act as the primary quality window to OSATs, foundries, and module suppliers, ensuring alignment on quality expectations, specifications, and deliverables.
- Lead supplier quality reviews, QBRs, and daily/weekly issue tracking with manufacturing partners.
- Drive DPPM, SPC, Cp/Cpk, and yield-related KPIs across suppliers and ensure continuous improvement.
- Ensure supplier execution of IQA, OQA, and process control plans according to iPronics standards.
Failure Analysis, RCA & 8D Execution
- Lead structured problem-solving activities (FA, RCA, 8D) for supplier-related issues, including assembly defects, optical alignment failures, packaging anomalies, and reliability escapes.
- Validate supplier 8D reports for completeness, technical depth, and effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Coordinate cross-functional reviews with Product Realisation, NPI, Photonics, Electronics, and Reliability teams to ensure permanent closure of issues.
RMA, Field Failure & Customer Quality Support
- Own the full RMA workflow: intake, triage, FA coordination, supplier engagement, and customer communication.
- Establish clear RMA metrics (turnaround time, recurrence rate, escape rate) and drive continuous improvement.
- Support customer-facing quality escalations with data-driven analysis, clear documentation, and timely resolution.
- Translate customer quality requirements into actionable supplier quality standards.
Process Quality, Compliance & Change Management
- Review and approve supplier PCN/ECN/MRB submissions; ensure changes are properly validated before release.
- Monitor process stability through SPC, correlation studies, and yield trending.
- Ensure supplier compliance with iPronics specifications, documentation, and revision control.
- Support audits and readiness assessments for new suppliers or new manufacturing lines.
Data-Driven Quality Management
- Build dashboards and reporting mechanisms for supplier quality performance, yield trends, and defect analytics.
- Identify systemic issues through data correlation, pattern recognition, and cross-lot analysis.
- Partner with NPI teams to ensure smooth quality transition from proto/EVT/DVT into stable mass production.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in semiconductor, photonics, OSAT, or advanced packaging quality engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with FA, RCA, 8D, SPC, Cp/Cpk, DPPM tracking, and supplier quality systems.
- Familiarity with assembly processes such as flip-chip, fiber attach, active alignment, molding, underfill, or photonic module integration.
- Experience working directly with OSATs or foundries in a fabless model.
- Ability to interpret optical, electrical, mechanical, and reliability data to support quality decisions.
- Excellent communication skills for supplier management and customer-facing quality discussions.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to drive issues to closure.
- Experience in fast-paced start-up or scale-up environments is highly preferred.
Additional Notes
This role is part of the Product Realization & Operations organization and works closely with NPI, Photonics, Electronics, Reliability, and Supply Chain teams. You will play a critical role in ensuring our Tier 1 suppliers deliver the quality, reliability, and consistency required for next-generation optical switching products deployed in demanding datacenter environments.
