That’s why we’re looking for a hands-on People & Culture Partner who takes full ownership of people operations while helping define how we work, grow, and lead.

This is not a classic “HR role”.

You’ll be the go-to person for all people topics; from labor law to leadership sparring and play a key role in building a pragmatic, tech-enabled, and high-performing people function.

Job Requirements

What we’re looking for

• Strong experience as a People Partner / HR BP / People Lead in a startup or scale-up
• Proven ability to build and improve processes, not just maintain them
• Solid knowledge of German labor law and confidence handling sensitive topics 
• Hands-on and ownership-driven; you get things done without waiting for direction
• Able to balance strategy and execution in a fast-paced environment
• Clear communicator who can handle direct and difficult conversations
• Tech-savvy mindset; comfortable with tools, data, and not stuck in “we’ve always done it this way”
• Fluent in German and English 
  

Nice to have

• Experience scaling a people function or building structures from scratch
• First leadership experience or strong potential to lead
• Background in performance management, compensation, or org development
• Experience working in fast-growing or international teams

Job Responsibilities

What you’ll do

• Own the full employee lifecycle end-to-end and ensure smooth, compliant, and scalable people operations
• Act as the go-to person for all people topics, including employee relations and German labor law
• Drive and embed a strong, authentic company culture and spar with founders and leadership
• Build and improve core people practises (performance, feedback, compensation, benefits) with a pragmatic mindset
• Ensure clean and efficient HR operations (payroll prep, documentation, systems like HiBob/Datev/Notion)
• Guide and enable a junior team member without micromanaging
• Use tech and data to improve how we work and challenge outdated approaches
