Job Description
We are a small, experienced team developing a complex technology system. Our system is growing, processing financial information from tens of thousands of customers, and we are looking for someone to help us think about where it needs to be in two years – and lead us there.
We are looking for someone who looks at the system as a whole, identifies where it is struggling, and knows how to lead major changes – in architecture, performance, and infrastructure – from idea to production. Someone with experience and a broad perspective, who knows how to weigh trade-offs and harness the team for change.
And in the same breath: this is not a "side architect" role. You are a full part of the team, writing code every day and also taking on Full Stack tasks like the rest of us – from features in Vue to DevOps and interfacing with LLM systems.

Who is the engineer we are looking for?
- Experienced developer (7 years or more), with significant experience in Node.js or a similar scripting language and willingness to delve deeper into Node.
- Proven experience in designing or changing the architecture of a live system in production – not just in new projects from scratch.
- Experience working on a system at a significant scale: data volumes, traffic, and background processing.
- Significant experience in performance improvement: profiling, identifying bottlenecks, and measurable improvements in databases, queues, and caching.
- Systems perspective: Ability to identify trade-offs between performance, cost, and complexity, and explain them clearly to team and management.
- Ability to lead end-to-end cross-system change – including harnessing the team, planning a gradual transition, and dealing with what breaks along the way.
- Willingness to also work on ongoing Full Stack tasks, as a full part of the team.

- Advantage: Experience with Vue, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Redis and AWS.
Our technologies
Our system is based on Node.js, with a front-end in Vue. We use MongoDB, RabbitMQ, and Redis, and our environment runs on AWS (Fargate). In addition, we have ML and AI systems written in Python that analyze financial and behavioral data.
