Java Developer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable microservices using Java 25 and Spring Boot 4.
• Develop secure, high-performance RESTful APIs for enterprise applications.
• Integrate with external systems through SOAP web services and REST APIs.
• Build and maintain event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka for asynchronous messaging and real-time data processing.
• Design and optimise relational database solutions using PostgreSQL and Oracle, including schema design, query optimisation, and data modelling.
• Deploy, monitor, and support cloud-native applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and solution architects to deliver high-quality software.
• Participate in system design, code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
• Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies and contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
• Ensure applications meet security, scalability, availability, and performance requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
• Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Java 25 and Spring Boot 4.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-native application development.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and integrating SOAP web services.
• Hands-on experience implementing event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
• Proficiency with relational databases, including PostgreSQL and Oracle, with experience in SQL, data modelling, and query optimisation.
• Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Familiarity with Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and dependency injection.
• Experience with build and dependency management tools such as Maven or Gradle.
• Strong knowledge of Git and collaborative version control workflows.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker), and deployment automation.
• Knowledge of software design principles, design patterns, and object-oriented programming.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
