About Neuranics

Neuranics is a fast-growing fabless semiconductor company pioneering the future of magnetic sensing solutions. Based in Glasgow, we are developing pioneering Tunnelling Magnetoresistance (TMR) sensors that are enabling the next generation of wearables, XR, and advanced human-machine interaction.

As Neuranics continues its rapid growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive HR Manager to help attract, develop, and retain the exceptional talent behind our success. This is an opportunity to play a key role in one of Scotland’s fastest-growing deep-tech scale-up companies, helping to build high-performing teams while creating a positive and engaging employee experience. Working closely with leaders across the business, you will contribute to shaping our culture, supporting our people, and helping to build the exceptional team behind our continued growth.

Job Summary:

As HR Manager, you will lead the HR and People function at Neuranics, acting as the primary HR professional within the business and partnering with managers and leadership to support our continued growth. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a fast-growing technology company. You will support the full employee lifecycle, from attracting and hiring exceptional talent through to employee development, engagement, and retention. Working closely with department managers and the leadership team, you will help ensure Neuranics continues to attract candidates with highly specialised skill sets while building scalable people processes that support our ambitious growth plans. You will also work to continuously improve our people practices, ensuring they remain effective, compliant, and aligned with the needs of a rapidly scaling business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead recruitment activity across the business, working closely with department managers and senior leaders to attract, assess, and secure exceptional talent to support Neuranics’ ambitious growth plans.
  • Proactively identify, attract, and engage world-class talent, building strong candidate pipelines across deep-tech, semiconductor, ASIC/chip design, and related engineering disciplines.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding, ensuring employees have a positive and well-organised experience throughout their employment lifecycle.
  • Prepare employment contracts, offer letters, and other employee documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
  • Manage monthly payroll, providing new starter, leaver, and pay adjustment information.
  • Support the development and administration of employee compensation arrangements, including commission and bonus schemes.
  • Maintain and develop HR policies, procedures, and employee guidance, working with the company’s in-house legal function where appropriate.
  • Support managers with probation reviews, performance discussions, and employee development plans.
  • Coordinate the company performance review process and ensure agreed actions are followed through.
  • Complete right-to-work checks and support visa and sponsorship administration.
  • Keep up to date with UK employment law and recommend appropriate changes to policies and working practices.
  • Prepare HR reporting across areas such as headcount, recruitment, absence, turnover, and training.
  • Work closely with the leadership team on wider people projects, processes, and improvements as Neuranics grows.
  • Act as the main point of contact for employees and managers on day-to-day HR matters.
  • Advise managers on employee relations matters including absence, performance, conduct, grievances, and flexible working requests.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience proactively sourcing, attracting and engaging high-calibre talent, ideally within technical, engineering, or specialist markets.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a broad HR generalist or HR Manager role, with the ability to manage day-to-day HR activity independently.
  • Experience managing a broad range of HR activities across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, policy implementation, and compliance.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent practical HR experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice, with experience advising managers on a broad range of people matters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain HR matters clearly and sensitively.
  • Demonstrates discretion and professionalism when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Builds trusted relationships with employees and managers at all levels through a fair, approachable, and collaborative style.
  • Experience with visa application processes and/or managing employment overseas.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a growing SME, technology, engineering, semiconductor, or R&D environment.
  • Experience acting as the primary HR/People contact within a growing organisation.
  • Working knowledge of HR systems and employee data management.
  • Experience coordinating learning and development activities or skills matrices.
  • Experience managing relationships with external payroll, recruitment, employment law, occupational health, or benefits providers.
