About Buena

Buena is digitizing property management in Germany. We take over traditional property management companies and transform them into modern, technology-driven businesses, with the goal of making property management simple and transparent.

Your role

You will build our accounting department from the ground up. You will develop the processes, design the systems, and gradually assemble a lean team. You will be actively involved in day-to-day operations and responsible for accurate financial statements prepared in accordance with German GAAP (HGB) for all companies and the group as a whole. You will report directly to the CFO. Our group is growing through acquisitions, and whatever you build must keep pace with this growth. You will decide how accounting works at Buena.

What you will do

  • Development. You will build a central accounting system for all German companies step by step. To achieve this, you will define the target vision and roadmap, take on tasks from external service providers, and manage the collaboration with them.
  • Processes. You establish standardized processes from accounts payable to year-end closing, including a fixed closing calendar, and reduce manual steps.
  • Integration of new companies. You will build the systems and processes that enable us to integrate newly acquired companies quickly and accurately.
  • Systems. You are responsible for DATEV and LucaNet and design the data model, chart of accounts, mapping, validations and authorizations.
  • Individual financial statements. You review the individual financial statements of all companies for accuracy and timeliness to ensure they provide a sound basis for consolidation. Where necessary, you handle closing entries, reconciliations, and intercompany clarifications yourself.
  • Consolidation. You build the HGB consolidation in LucaNet, with monthly group figures that will withstand an audit, as well as a group chart of accounts and accounting guidelines.
  • Auditor and consultant. You are the first point of contact for auditors and tax advisors and implement audit findings.
  • Team. You build the team step by step and decide which tasks remain internal and which are outsourced.

You'd be a good fit for us if

  • You prepared consolidated financial statements according to German GAAP (HGB) yourself, not just coordinated or audited them, ideally in a group with many companies.
  • You are a LucaNet expert and have set up a consolidation there yourself, from data transfer from DATEV to reporting.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of DATEV and have set up and managed many clients with a uniform structure.
  • You built an accounting system with processes and systems yourself, not just improved it.
  • You built and led a team.
  • You can identify errors in individual financial statements before they are consolidated.
  • You were the first point of contact during final exams and implemented the findings.
  • You work quickly and accurately, even under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • You act quickly in unclear situations.
  • You design solutions and implement them yourself, without waiting for templates or input.
  • You have studied business administration, accounting, or finance, or possess comparable qualifications. Being a certified accountant, tax specialist, tax advisor, or auditor is an advantage.
  • You speak German very well and English well.

What you get

  • Up to €500 office proximity bonus if you live (or move) within a 10-20 minute walk of the office.
  • €110 per month lunch budget and €50 per month fitness allowance.
  • €1,200 annual training budget.
  • Free books: Buena pays for any book you want to read.
