About Nobi

Nobi is a pioneering AgeTech company developing innovative technology to help older adults live independently and with dignity. Our Smart Light supports older adults, their families and care providers by offering discreet, responsive assistance when needed.

Our mission is to combine technology and care to make a meaningful difference in people's lives.

The Role

As Global HR Director, you will lead and coordinate Nobi's HR function across Belgium, the UK and the US. Reporting to the CFO, you will ensure that our HR strategy, policies and processes support business objectives while meeting local employment and compliance requirements.

This is a broad, hands-on leadership role combining strategic responsibility with day-to-day operational ownership. You will work closely with the CFO, the leadership team, the local HR Director in the US, our HR support in Belgium and external partners to build a consistent and effective global HR framework.

Based in Wilrijk, Belgium, the role offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining office presence with working from home. Occasional international travel may be required.

Your Responsibilities

Global HR Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and maintain global HR policies, processes and governance across Belgium, the UK and the US.
  • Advise the CFO and leadership team on workforce planning, organisational changes, people-related risks and HR priorities.

HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle

  • Oversee the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, contracts, onboarding, performance management, development and offboarding.
  • Support managers with employee relations, performance matters, absence management and sensitive employee cases.

International HR & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local employment legislation and coordinate with local HR teams, payroll partners and legal advisers.
  • Work closely with the US HR Director to implement global standards while respecting local requirements.

Compensation, Benefits & Payroll

  • Oversee payroll coordination, salary reviews, bonuses, benefits, pensions, insurance and mobility arrangements.
  • Partner with Finance and external providers to ensure accurate reporting and effective cost management.

Talent, Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Support recruitment, workforce planning, employee development and retention.
  • Improve HR systems, documentation, reporting and international processes to strengthen efficiency and consistency.

What You Bring

  • A degree in HR, Business Administration, Law or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 10 years of relevant HR experience, including senior-level responsibility and hands-on operational work.
  • Strong knowledge of HR fundamentals, including Belgian employment law, employee relations, compensation and benefits, payroll coordination and compliance.
  • Experience working in an international environment with different legal frameworks.
  • A pragmatic, business-oriented mindset, combining strategic thinking with practical execution.
  • Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Knowledge of Belgian employment law is essential. Familiarity with UK employment practices is an advantage but not a requirement. Close collaboration with the US HR Director is essential. Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment is a plus.

What Nobi Offers

  • A competitive salary, complemented by extra-legal benefits.
  • A broad international role with direct exposure to the CFO and leadership team.
  • The opportunity to shape and improve global HR policies and processes.
  • Flexible hybrid working arrangements.
  • A collaborative and inclusive team culture.
  • The opportunity to contribute to a purpose-driven technology company making a real difference in the lives of older adults.
